One of the best lines I can think of when describing how you get into a relationship with a Narcissist is this:

You didn’t fall for him. He TRIPPED you.

This accurately describes how a narcissist targets and traps you. They are not truly in love, they are posturing, plotting, and scheming the whole time to get you to like them, fall for them, and eventually be trapped by them.
